This construction was first published in the danish magazine High Fidelity in February 1974. Best of luck with hunting that article down, those pages were torn out of the library's bound 1974 volume of the magazine, so it could not be relied upon to supplement this. It has however later been found and may later be added to this section for reference as it may otherwise be unavailable for you.
The horn theories used are well described in the article "Horn Acoustics" by Rex Baldcock, presumeably Wireless World, it may also have been HiFi News as estimated from the typography, year and volume unknown, it was not a source used for the original design, but it does give a good overview.
Please be aware that horn theory isn't quite done yet, it is still getting worked on, and there are several newer AES papers on that general topic.
Links to sites with horn specific information may be found in the link section of my main site, and the topic will be kept in mind when occasionally updating it, this subpage may also get enhanced, nothing promised.
Witold Waldman's site has a very good overview of what is available in terms of general loudspeaker theory and documentation thereof, so please go there to find the more specific stuff to search for.
